sharing my childhood

one of the things i have enjoyed sharing with my children is literature. is there ever enough time to read all that is good, uplifting, thought-provoking, etc? as a child i had access to many children's classics and one of my fondest memories is sitting by the banks of a small creek that was set a bit behind our home while living in scotland and reading The Wind in the Willows by kenneth grahme. While in hong kong the other day i happened upon an abridged version with artwork by inga moore. i thought i would share the cover of this book with you so you can see some of this beautiful art that so wonderfully captures the magic of this book. i cannot wait to share this with my children!

What a beautiful little post you have shared here. Yes, literature is such wonderful gift to share. I loved reading how you used to sit by a creek/brook in Scotland and read The Wind In The Willows...such a beautiful picture that paints...

Maybe one day you will share my writings with your children...I hope so... :)

love,
Charity

Nice book. One of my favorites. Of course you always did steal my books. lol. Still "Call It Courage" was my favorite as a little boy. I think I read every book in that library we had in Scotland. I remember the ones about the Greek Gods coming back and living in modern day London. There were a few of those in teh series.

yes it was a great library. i learned a lot there. btw i had my own copy of wind in the willows and i wasn't much interested in harold robbins, it must have been someone else borrowing your books, oh except for tarzan of the apes - that was me!
