poetry

i visited my dear blog friend charity today, she shared her poetry, she is a wonderful writer. she also shared a sweet, and innocent poem about those first youthful experiences of love found here.

so in the spirit of love and charity i thought i would post a poem that has always made me catch my breath.

John Boyle O'Reilly (1844-1890)

The red rose whispers of passion,
And the white rose breathes of love;
O the red rose is a falcon,
And the white rose is a dove.

But I send you a cream-white rosebud
With a flush on its petal tips;
For the love that is purest and sweetest
Has a kiss of desire on the lips.

Oh lizzy....you are sooo wonderful! You are such a darling and so, so wonderful! I love you so much! :) :)

Thank you, Lizzy, for those kind, kind words! :)

And about this poem that you love...it is just so sweet and lovely...I love the poems that come from the 18 hundreds...and the art that usually accompanies them! Like The Lady of Shallot! :) :)

love love much much,
C
